I'm here to help you live well!
What could you accomplish if you didn't feel like your mind was constantly running in circles?
Are you rolling out of bed every day after compulsively hitting the snooze button with mountains of anxiety (almost as big as the mountains of laundry you should've done last week)?
Do you ever find yourself drowning in negative thoughts about your relationships, work and pretty much... everything?
Stress & struggle sometimes come out of nowhere, but a lot of times it's like a slow burn. If you feel like you're looking at a stranger when you look in the mirror, wondering where to begin, it's okay to ask for help and maybe it's time!
I'm here for YOU.
I'm here to guide you on your personal adventure to the life you desire, to help you improve your mental health and well-being, overcome limiting beliefs, and work toward the goals you've been delaying.
I do this work because I understand what you're going through and I have a passion for helping others feel better in their mind, body and life!
Let therapy help you untangle yourself from the overwhelm, negative thinking patterns that hold you back & anxious thoughts that keep you up at night so you can create a life you enjoy!
The words Counseling and Therapy are often used interchangeably. Typically, Counseling is seen as more short-term and focused on a specific issue while Therapy is more long-term and focuses on you as an individual. There are a lot of nuances to each of these terms and states classify professionals differently, so what clients are usually more concerned about is ensuring that they're working with a qualified mental health professional.
As mental health professionals, we're trained to help our clients in a supportive, structures, productive way. Talking to your friends and family is great and highly encouraged. However, they're not trained to provide you with specific tools & skills, or to help you process trauma, core beliefs and experiences the way a therapist is. Therapists are specifically trained to help you work through all aspects of life and create positive & lasting change where needed.
I do have some clients who work with their doctor and take prescription medication. I’m a big believer that if someone is taking medication for mental health it’s a good idea that they also have a therapist on their treatment team. As a licensed counselor I cannot prescribe medication; you will need to see your doctor or Psychiatrist for medication management.
In certain scenarios I'll meet with a couple or family members, but my main focus is individual counseling.

Note: All sessions in both IL and FL are currently conducted only via telehealth. There are no in-person office appointments at this time.
Unfortunately I can’t. The good thing is that there are a lot of therapists available in each state! Friends and family can be a resource when trying to find someone local, and here is a video full of great advice when looking for a therapist.
Treatment length is based on each individual client. The frequency of sessions will be talked about during the intake session, but typically we see clients weekly and then decrease frequency from there based on treatment needs and goals.
I like to speak with clients for a few minutes when scheduling to make sure I can meet their needs and there are no immediate referrals I need to make based on presenting issues. This brief (no longer than 15 minutes) consultation is free.
At this time, Lori is currently only in network with Optum for Florida clients.
In order to provide 100% confidential and individualized treatment, we aren't in network with other insurance. (Not utilizing insurance also empowers you to choose your provider, treatment length, and style, and not have insurance interfere with your individualized needs and goals.)
We can send you a Superbill that you can provide to insurance should you wish to seek reimbursement, but we cannot guarantee they will do so.
We accept all major credit cards and FSA/HSA cards for payment.
Lori Streator: $150 per 60 minute intake (first session only), $125 per 55 minute session thereafter
If you're a licensed counselor or admin assistant interested in working with Lori, please send an email via the 'contact' page on this website with your request so that it can be reviewed. We'd love to hear from you!
